Inauguration of Computer Lab in Collaboration with Zong December 2, 2022
HANDS Pakistan inaugurated a computer lab with the support of ZONG 4G at the Siddique Khaskheli School, Rehri Goth, Karachi. With the aim to bridge the digital divide and to offer high-quality education to the marginalized strata of society in Karachi, the partnership will empower thousands of children with digital education.
Celebrated International Day of Persons with Disabilities December 3, 2022
HANDS through its social media disseminated the awareness raising messages on International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD). Theme for IDPD 2022: “Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fueling an accessible and equitable world”. On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, HANDS Independent Living Centre team organized an event at the fully accessible KMC Sports Complex, Kashmir Road, Karachi. The event was graced by Chief Executive HANDS, Mr. Sadiq Memon’s Special Assistant for DEPD to CM Sindh, Mr. Hadi Bakhsh Kalhoro Secretary DEPD, IG Traffic, DG DEPD MNA Kishwar Zehra, and other prominent personalities from different sectors of society attended the event.
Transformative Solutions for Inclusive Development by HANDS December 3, 2022
Meet Naila, who is our staff member in the knowledge management unit, head office, since the past 12 years. She had polio since she was 1-year-old, and has to be constantly on a portable ventilator. Naila didn’t let her disability come in the way of her dreams. She’s a great example of how innovative solutions can provide persons with disabilities the life they deserve.
HANDS has been working extensively on the rights and needs of persons with disabilities since the last 42 years.

Distribution of Winterization and Shelter kits in Collaboration with HelpAge International December 4, 2022
To help and protect flood affected population against harsh weather conditions, HANDS district Dadu team distributed winterization and temporary shelter kits among 108 beneficiaries at Taluka Johi, district Dadu under HANDS-HELPAGE PROJECT.
Study Tour of EMO School Children from Sukkur to Karachi December 4, 2022
HANDS EMO Schools project organized a ‘Study Tour – Sukkur to Karachi’ for the students, teachers, parents, & SMC members of GHS Bhellar, Kamal Khan Indhar district, Sukkur & Pir Essa, District Khairpur. They visited important landmarks of Karachi. It was a great learning experience for them.

CBID Network and HANDS organized in collaboration with Indus Motors organized a panel discussion on “Advocating for Disability Inclusive Development in Pakistan” at HANDS Head Office Karachi on Thursday, December 8, 2022. Inauguration of Urban Forest in Safari Park Lahore December 18, 2022
HANDS Pakistan and Zong Pakistan in collaboration with Punjab Forest Department has inaugurated an Urban Forest in Safari Park Lahore. The project is a part of HANDS Pakistan’s CEO’s initiative to build urban forest in each populated area of the cities. HANDS Provincial office Lahore has implemented the project swiftly and presented HANDS interventions in Punjab. Mr. Shahid Tabassum Divisional Forest Officer graced the inauguration ceremony while Mr. Junaid, Mr. Faisal Irfan, Ms. Anum for Zong and Mr. Lal Jan, Program Manager CRD & NRM HANDS attended the event and briefed the donors about HANDS activities.
Distribution of Food Ration Bags to Floods 2022 affected population at district Mirpurkhas Sindh December 19, 2022
HANDS Pakistan distributed 300 bags of ration, clothes, shoes, jackets, and blankets with the support of Qatar charity at Village Tooh Khaskheli, UC Pir Azeem Shah and Usman Rajar colony UC old Mirpurkhas Taluka Hussain Bux Mari District Mirpurkhas.
Medical Camps for Flood affected community at District Sanghar, Sindh December 20, 2022
HANDS Sanghar team conducted 6 medical camps at different Marvi Worker villages & treated 1129 male & female patients of different diseases. They provided them free medication as well as family planning services to new Family Planing clients under PSI Mobile Medical Camps Project, district Sanghar. HANDS Sanghar team conducted 6 Medical Camps in different villages. They were also provided free medication as well as family planning services in camps in collaboration with Population Services International
Distribution of Winterization Kits at district Dadu on December 21, 2022

Celebrated Quaid Day December 25, 2022
Quaid-e-Azam Day in Pakistan is celebrated every year on December 25. It is a celebration of Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birthday across Pakistan. He is believed to be the founder of the country and was known as ‘Qaid-e-Azam,’ which means ‘Great Leader.
HANDS on this Quaid Day is reminiscing one of the sayings of the founder of Pakistan where he talks about wellbeing for all, which is our motto as an organization.

HANDS held activities for Afghan Children on December 27, 2022
Being a refugee is not a choice. But it is a choice to Stand With Refugees. The number of displaced people continued to rise in 2022, calling for increased humanitarian assistance. One more activity for refugee children was organized by HANDS Pakistan. KWSSB District Coordinator, Mudassir Zafar, and his team visited Keamari Tent city.
Family Awareness Session in Collaboration woth PPIF on December 27, 2022
HANDS in collaboration with Punjab Population Innovation Funds (PPIF) is implementing six different projects on Family Planning Information and Services in six selected districts of Punjab, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Shaikhupura, Khushab, Sialkot, and Attock. The activities include identification of Noor-Workers (Community Based Health Workers), awareness sessions with different groups of communities included, and camps for family planning, which are all in process in mentioned districts.
Webinar on Role of Community in Social Development on December 28, 2022
HANDS arranged a webinar on role of community in social development which was conducted by Dr. Shereen Mustafa who is working as Secretary Welfare Department Government of Sindh, Karachi. She discussed the importance of community in the development of the society. Pakistan is a developing nation and there are certain issues related to development. She emphasized on the role of community to come forward to resolve issues in collaboration with government.
Webinar was attended by HANDS head office team, 31 districts offices team and was broadcasted live on HANSD facebook page.
