Distribution of Food Ration by The I-Care Foundation at district Khairpur , Sindh November 1, 2022


The I-Care Foundation have distributed 2000 ration bags in Sobhodero, Khairpur, as part of our generous donor Mr. Sohail Qadir’s pledge for District Khairpur’s relief and rehabilitation. HANDS management is grateful to I-Care, INTECH Pvt. Ltd. employees, Mr. Sohail Qadir and his family for stepping up to make a difference in many lives.
Provision of Medical Services by HANDS in Collaboration with DAFPAK Project of PSA November 3, 2022
HANDS DAFPAK teams with the support of Population Services International, is providing medical services in flood affected areas of districts Sanghar and Umerkot. The camps were set up in district Umerkot and Sanghar for flood affected families where patients of different diseases were treated. HANDS team conducted free Medical Camps in interventions of Marvi Workers (Community Health Workers), under DAFPAK project with the support of PSI Pakistan. The flood affected population was treated for different diseases.


MoU Signing Ceremony Between HANDS & APL for Medical services November 3, 2022
The flood affected population of Sindh are fighting with numerous health problems, which is why HANDS Chef Executive Dr. Shaikh Tanveer Ahmed, and Asia Petroleum MD Mr. Babar Hanif Chaudhry have signed an MoU to provide Medical Camp Services to flood affected population of Sindh.

Hygiene Session at Lasbela-Balochistan with Students and Community Under UNICEF project November 4, 2022
HANDS Lasbela team conducted health hygiene sessions under WASH UNICEF Pakistan Project with students and community members. They distributed aqua tabs, IEC material, & taught the usage of aqua tab. The team also provided Plastic Water Tanks to flood affected communities in Tehsil Uthal District Lasbela, Balochistan.


HANDS Participation in COP 27 on November 6-18, 2022

The United Nations Climate Change Conference, better known as COP 27, was held in Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt) from 6-18 November 2022 under the theme “Together for Implementation” and with a view to renewing and extending the agreements reached in the historic Paris Agreement.
HANDS Head of Communication, Maaz Tanveer participated in one of the sessions with other panelists at COP27 for a solutions-focused discussion on how insurance and risk management can help to build resilience, protect the most vulnerable from the worst impacts of climate-related disasters, and deliver more funding, faster.
Iqbal Day Celebration November 9, 2022

Iqbal day is organized and celebrated on 9 November every year in all the provinces as a tribute to Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the “Poet of the East”. Iqbal was born on 9 November 1877 in Sialkot, within the Punjab Province of British India (now in Pakistan). He died on 21 April 1938 in Lahore, Punjab, British India.
Let’s become a source of hope for those who are hopeless. Flood affected population of Pakistan are still waiting for your support. HANDS celebrated the day with the flood victims.

CBM Regional Representatives Visit to Pakistan November 10, 2022
CBM International is one of HANDS partner on Inclusion. A delegation including Ms. Gritt Haedicke – Regional Humanitarian Coordinator Asia & America, and Dr. Zahid Awan, IEH Project Manager visited District Dadu of Sindh alongwith HANDS team for distribution of cash grants among people with disabilities. They also distributed roofing kits under HANDS and CBM Flood Relief Program in flood affected areas of Sindh. They met all beneficiaries and appreciated HANDS for their efforts in flood relief and rehabilitation activities in Pakistan.


World Kindness Day November 13, 2022

World Kindness Day is celebrated annually on 13th November. On this day, participants attempt to make the world a better place by celebrating and promoting good deeds and pledging acts of kindness, either as individuals or as organizations. The theme of World Kindness Day 2022 is ‘Be kind whenever is possible‘.
HANDS disseminated the message of kindness by helping the poor and vulnerable Flood Affected community of Pakistan.

Fund donation to HANDS for Floods 2022 by Kiki Van Gelder November 16, 2022

11 years old, Kiki van Gelder seeing all the children suffer, decided to raise funds for recent floods in Pakistan. She came up with this idea as her class worked on an assignment called ‘service action’ where all kids in class had to come up with an idea to do something positive for society. Kiki decided to bake lovely chocolate cookies and sell them in her neighborhood to raise the money for flood affectees. Kiki hopes that the money can be used for a school and children affected by the terrible floods.
Kiki’s father, who works at Shell, donated the amount to HANDS Pakistan. This is a great example for students around the world to take on such initiatives and actively support the cause. Thank you, Kiki!

World Sanitation Day November 19, 2022
Each year, World Toilet Day on 19 November highlights the importance of sanitation and hygiene in driving improvements in public health, gender equality, education, economic development and environmental protection. This year, World Toilet Day is observed under the slogan of “Making the invisible visible” with the theme of sanitation and groundwater. Sustainable Development Goal #6 calls for universal access to adequate and equitable sanitation and the end of open defecation by 2030. This year’s Campaign Theme is ‘Making the invisible visible‘ explores how inadequate sanitation systems spread human waste into rivers, lakes and soil, polluting underground water resources.
The connection between sanitation and groundwater cannot be overlooked. This is why HANDS is working day and night to make clean water accessible for all. #WorldToiletDay, let’s make the invisible, visible.


Celebration of World Children Day 2022

World Children’s Day was first established in 1954 as Universal Children’s Day and is celebrated on 20 November each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s welfare. It recognizes education as a basic right, and is one of the key international documents that forms the basis of all Agency work. This year’s World Children’s Day theme is ‘Inclusion, For Every Child‘. It aims to empower children to call for a better future and a more equal, inclusive world. We at HANDS are constantly working to protect the future of the young. This #WorldChildrensDay, support us in making quality education and living accessible for every child.
World Children’s Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at HANDS RBCS Foundation Assisted Schools. Students participated in different co-curricular activities i.e. speech, drawing, quiz competitions, and also performed on different tableaus. Teachers delivered awareness sessions about how can students enhance their interpersonal skills and contribute to uplifting the lives of their families. Gifts were also distributed among students as a token of appreciation.
HANDS in collaboration with Punjab Population Innovation Fund in Punjab working on Family Planning November 24, 2022
HANDS in collaboration with Punjab Population Innovation Fund – PPIF is implementing three different projects on Family Planning Information, and providing services in six selected districts of Punjab including Lahore, Gujranwala, Shaikhupura, Khushab, Sialkot and Attock. The activities included identification of Noor-Workers (Community Based Health Workers,) and mapping of Health Care Providers is in process, focused on un-covered areas in the mentioned districts.


16 Days of Activism November 25- December 10, 2022

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that starts on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day. It was started by activists at the inaugural Women’s Global Leadership Institute in 1991 and continues to be coordinated each year by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership. It is used as an organizing strategy by individuals and organizations around the world to call for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls. The global theme for this year’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, which run from 25 November to 10 December 2022 is Lets End Femicide.
Category D Hospital at Razmak Managed by HANSD in Collaboration with KP Government KP Government is November 25, 2022
At Category D hospital Razmak North Waziristan, HANDS is running the hospital through a public-private partnership. This is the first time in the history of this hospital that major surgeries are being done. This is a historic achievement for which credit duly goes to all the partners involved in this PPP undertaking including the provincial government, health department, KP Health Foundation and HANDS. Now the Operation Theatre has been made functional by HANDS with an expenditure of nearly 9 million rupees. These health services are providing a big relief to the local population of a remote area with harsh climate which has almost no economical public transport and the nearest medical facility is otherwise at 2 hours’ distance.

Winters are harsher on the ones out in the open. HANDS team distributed non-food Items, winterization & shelter kits among flood affected communities in district Khairpur with the support of HelpAge International.
